Two shirts: The style trick fashionistas adopt in spring

Two Shirts

Two collars, two cuffs—the most practical transition from winter to spring.

Matthieu Blazy's new vision for Chanel suggests that if you already loved shirts, there's no better time than now to invest in the latest versions. The designer brought shirts to the runway that looked like they had been borrowed from an important man in our lives—loose but so well-tailored that they fit everywhere.

Shirts in the same style appeared at Bottega Veneta, Celine, and Etro in various shades of blue or pastel tones, often striped, with worn collars or worn with the buttons open. And while these shirts look great on their own or worn under a knit, a new way of wearing them has captured the imagination of their most loyal fans: wearing two together.

The first time we saw the double shirt look was when Miu Miu presented the trick on the Spring/Summer 2024 runway. Miuccia Prada's suggestion was to wear a polo shirt over a shirt, with the collar turned up, in a very relaxed style, for the ultimate modern effortless look. More recently, at Loewe's Spring/Summer 2026 show, the layered shirt was a key stylistic trick, made of crinkled cotton and worn under parkas and coats.

And while classic striped shirts remain the best starting point for experimenting with the new trend,I suggest "playing with materials: combining, for example, a denim shirt with a plaid one."
