Fanny pack: The most sophisticated version is here
The classic "banana" is redefined.
From the 1980s and 1990s to Y2K, when it became a symbol of everyday dressing, the waist bag remained controversial despite finding its way into the wardrobes of the best-dressed. With its sporty style and lifestyle elements, it became a must-have for stylers who chose it for walks, excursions, and short trips, until it went through its own period of "obscurity," leaving room for other bag trends.
However, a quick glance at the Fall-Winter 2025-2026 catwalks confirms its return—a revival with a new look, a more sophisticated air, and a complete reimagining. At Louis Vuitton, one of the models wore a fanny pack, not around the waist, but slung over the shoulder, while at Dior, the waist bag took the form of a backpack, while Burberry turned it into a handbag, with a handle decorated with the house's signature check pattern.
Now, a year later, the waist bag has made a big comeback on the summer catwalks and has established itself as the top accessory of 2026.
With the simplest of movements, it slims the silhouette and gives a controlled emphasis to the waist that is nothing but flattering. We noticed this at Versace and Hermès, where the iconic Kelly bag was transformed into a fanny pack.
